Short description of the movie After
The film "After" tells the story of the life of an inconspicuous little girl Tessa, who fell in love in her first year of school. The very beginning of the film vividly paints for us a picture of her arrival at the student body. The viewer immediately meets the mother of the heroine and her boyfriend, a relationship with whom has been going on since childhood. The main character is left alone in a completely unfamiliar place, the boyfriend and mother leave for their hometown, and her ambitious and extraordinary neighbor Stef becomes Tessa's only companion. Seeing in front of him an obedient girl from a small town, real innocence and modesty, Stef decides to take Tessa with him to a party at the famous among students Scott Hardin.
The heroine manages to get to know him before the party, unexpectedly meeting him in her room after a shower. Already at the party, the game "Truth or Dare" begins between the guests. Tessa's act was a kiss with Hardin filmed on camera. Almost a second before the promised kiss, Tessa stops and says that she does not want to play further. Proudly leaving, Tessa did not hear the guys' conversation and did not see the continuation of the video, which in the future played a significant role in their relationship. The party is not over yet and the girl decides to take a walk around the house. She looks into one of the rooms with huge wardrobes with various novels, when suddenly Hardin appears. It turns out that it was in his room that they ended up.
There is a short dialogue between the characters and they practically kiss. After that, their relationship is kept in suspense. An interesting scene follows: at a literature lecture, students discuss the novel Pride and Prejudice, because of the intricacies of which the protagonists have an argument about love. After this scene, the viewer inadvertently begins to associate Tessa and Hardin with the main characters of the novel. Time passes and the characters intersect more and more and cannot stop noticing each other. Suddenly Hardin offers Tessa a ride with him to some significant place for him: it turns out to be a quiet lake in the forest. The guy jumps into the water to swim and calls the girl with him.
As a result, the first kiss of the couple happens, and after that they slowly but surely start a love relationship. But after the scene in the cafe, when Hardin admits that he does not start a relationship and does not really believe in love, Tessa moves away from him, holding a grudge. Suddenly, her boyfriend Noah comes to visit her, with whom she goes to a party by the fire. There, as a result of another stupid game, one of the guys starts to pester Tessa, but suddenly Scott stands up for her, beating the guy. That night, the girl does not manage to sleep peacefully: at a late hour, Hardin's half-brother calls her and asks her to come, because the hero had a breakdown, during which her name flashed in the conversation. Arriving at the house, the girl sees a complete rout, and she finds Scott drunk by the pool. They have a sincere conversation, and later in the room he confesses his feelings to her.
The next morning, Tessa wants to tell everything to Noah, but he already managed to find out everything himself and draw a conclusion, so the couple break up. Hardin and Tessa spend more and more time together, which Scott's friends notice and disapprove of. The couple literally flourishes, they begin to live together, the girl meets Scott's parents - they are truly happy. But then an event emerges that happened at the first party.
The fact is that Molly (Scott's friend), taking advantage of the moment when the couple is experiencing a not entirely happy time, together with other friends showed the full video of that day to Tessa: in that video, Scott argues with them that he will specially fall in love with the girl, and then cut off his feelings. The couple finally break up, and their suffering is shown to the audience with might and main. But the situation is saved by Hardin's letter to Tessa, in which he admits that he really fell in love with her the most, contrary to his own principles, just as Darcy fell in love with Elizabeth.
